Lew Grade was Britain's greatest showbusiness mogul, a mogul in the tradition of Louis B. Meyer, Darryl F. Zanuck and Sam Goldwyn: he was the last of a kind. Grade seemed assailable for a quater of Century, first as an agent then a T.V. executive. He was also a Pre-eminent salesman who has tremendous rapport with the press and revelled in the most uncritical coverage ny top Businessman had ever enjoyed.  He seduced them with one-liners; they in turn, fed the public tales of his relentless workaholism, unswerving patriotism, sales figures and long cigars.

Then came Hollywood.  His colourful uprising with the Titanic and his sweeping downfall.
